We had so much fun on this project and love working with the team at HealthSavings. This post walks you through the?logo design process, but you can also follow the complete rebranding by previewing posts about?the other marketing items we created for them:
- ad, stationery and other print collateral (coming soon!)
- copywriting (can’t wait to share with you about our amazing copywriter who helped on this project! stay tuned?)
This?was their old logo (eeek!):
The client originally came to us for just a website design through a great referral (we love when our great clients refer more great clients!). They had already chosen another firm to create a new logo for them, but did?not have?much success with the other agency’s ideas and process. Of course, we happily jumped on board and proposed a ton of sketches and ideas. All our designers are illustrators at heart so, yes, we still sketch on paper. Our strongest sketched ideas are then digitized prior to sending to the client for a first proof. Here?are?some of our raw sketches (done on an airplane ride to the midwest!) and some of the first digital concepts we proposed.
The client ended up going with this?concept of an arrow formed from the negative space of a leaf-like element and a water/wave-like element. We also ended up steering them more toward greens and blues. They wanted to keep some sort of arrow element since there was an arrow in their old logo (easier transition for current clients to new branding).
As part of our logo design process for any client, when?the final concept is?chosen and refined we create a 1-page brand style guide showing the various layouts and color versions. We also list their fonts and colors for quick reference. We then export the various file types that can be used for different purposes, send along in a downloadable zip file and then they are empowered to use their brand. We’ve refined and are still perfecting our?logo design process – but, I gotta say, it’s a pretty cool process that our clients have been very happy with.
Check out HSA’s new logo on their website we developed for them and see how their brand came to life through other materials (even a custom debit card!). Below is a flyer we developed?for them to assist with an overall Brand Launch Campaign.
